Kijiko Farm is an integral part of Kijiko Conservation. Located in Kijiko, the farm produces food and dairy products for use by staff and visitors to Kijiko Conservation. It comprises of dairy cattle, banana plantation, citrus fruit trees, spices, rabbits and poultry. The farm has in recent times began to attract young people who want to have an experience of how integrated farming works.
Kijiko Farm is a popular destination for those who want to see how organic and sustainable farming is done. You may choose to go on a self-guided tour with minimal support or be taken around the farm using a structured or customised programme. The main purpose of the farm tours is for our guests to see first-hand how creating a sustainable “eco-system” is key to a successful farm. It is also for the guests to appreciate the integrated system of our plants and animals, meet and pet our farm animals, including chickens, geese, ducks, and cows.
Kijiko Conservation boasts of first-class campsite facilities, renowned for the elegant and mature tree landscape lying astride Lake Nalubaale (Victoria). The campsite offers a wide range of recreational facilities, and children will especially love riding or playing games in the adjacent open grounds. Everything about the site is great, including well-looked-after modern toilets.
